Asian Inspired Turkey Burger

Take your turkey burger to a new level!! Served with my famous spicey coleslaw and you have an easy and super yummy weeknight meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey (not ground breast meat – it will be too dry)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon of Sriracha – or according to your heat level
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fish sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • couple grinds of black pepper

Using your God-given tools (your hands!) or a wooden spoon, combine the turkey, garlic, Sriracha, sesame oil, fish sauce, cilantro, and salt. Mix until well combined but don’t over mix.

Form the burgers into four patties (I like them a little bigger so I only get three out of a pound of meat). Take your thumb and make a deep imprint in the center. This will help the burger from puffing up.

Heat the oil in a large non-stick skillet. Fry the burgers for about six to eight minutes on each side. Serve them on a toasted bun or English muffin of your choice and top with coleslaw, cilantro and anything else!

Notes

You can use any protein or plant-based protein in this recipe. Just adjust the cooking time according to what you are using to replace the turkey.
